5 Tips To Avoid Social Media Burnout

Hi everybody my name is Candace Rusling and welcome to Monk & Mills Today we are going to tackle a big topic and that's how to avoid burnout on social media especially when you're using social media for business now if it's your first time here to the channel make sure you are clicking the subscribe button and ding in the Bell to catch all the updates ok so social media man it can be rough right it takes a lot of effort and it takes a lot of planning and it takes a lot of focus and attention especially if you're using it for your business and if you're not what do you do now I know all my girls in direct sales are sitting back going uh yeah Candace I'm on social media every single day what you gonna teach me ok so we got 5 ways to prevent social media burnout here we go number one turn off your notification turn off your notifications now I can hear it I can hear everybody screaming but how will I know someone needs to get a hold of me I hear you let me explain turn off notifications that aren't coming from an actual person you're still going to want to have your private messages coming through to you but what you want to let go of is one anything that has a sound like really one thing that I do keep on certain apps is that little red circle with a number in it I like to see if there is something I should be aware of but I like to see it on my own time so turn off anything that does not come from a human so anything that's not a physical direct message to you that you need to be aware of let it go thing number two leave and unfollow groups that do not serve your purpose any group that is not helping your business let it go but all those groups that you really do want to stay in touch with and you want to be able to find eventually just unfollow them for all the ones that you typically check on a daily basis and you'd like to have them in your timeline especially groups pertaining to your business just turn off the notification girl turn off your notifications again you don't need to know when every single and post a question tip number three let go of any platform that causes you stress if you're not enjoying a platform and you're not consistently utilizing a platform it's probably not doing you any good anyway there's so many apps out there that can help you track your roi and i really suggest utilizing them if you hate Instagram and you're not going to spend time cultivating a community there don't be on it really focus on the ones you're strong at do you have a Facebook page that has a great following or you just really like Twitter cuz it's kind of fun and Twitter's making a comeback you really want to focus on the platforms that make the most sense for you and that you are going to invest your time in build an audience build a community because your community turns into your customers and then your customers recommend people to join your community which turn into your customers and then it all works out number four stop scrolling and stop scrolling stop scrolling you do not need to be on social media for hours every day the idea of scrolling and scrolling and scrolling is likened to pulling the arm on a slot machine over and over again it gets this rush of endorphins and we feed off of it but it's also a huge time-suck and if you're focusing on your business you should not be doing anything that wastes your time so my big suggestion for this one is a time block give yourself 20 minutes to jump on do what you need to do do not go into any groups do not scroll your feed schedule your posts and leave number 5 you might not be ready for this one and that's okay delete the apps get them off your phone here's the cool thing about where we are in social media and technology you can do absolutely everything you need to do for business from third-party apps from your computer at your desktop having them off of your phone and out your pocket saves you a ton of time I promise if you're not quite ready to completely delete the apps put them on your second screens you'll have to actually go to them to see if there's a notification so those are my top five tips on how to avoid the inevitable social media burnout especially if you're using it for business if you're looking for more tips and tricks on how to break the tech habit I will pop a link for you below in the description box now make sure you're subscribed to the channel because every single week we talk about topics that affect women in business the whole point of working for yourself is to achieve your dreams without sacrificing little pieces of yourself along the way make sure you like share and subscribe and comment below with any of your tips and tricks for breaking your habit with social media thanks for joining Monk & Mills where we strive to get every single woman living an unapologetically bold life
