Substance Abuse : How to Stop Using Tobacco

Hi, my name is Doctor Kim Makoi, I'm a holistic chiropractor and certified addictionologist from San Francisco And this is how to stop using tobacco

Tobacco like many addictive substances is not an easy thing to quit and for many people there are many things that work or don't work So for yourself you'll probably have to try a number of approaches before you find the one that'll really work for you So one of the first things to do is to try to figure out if there's a pattern to your tobacco use, whether it's triggered by certain social situations, or certain emotional situations or if it's just something you're just doing all day It's also helpful notice if you notice an actual physical craving for the substance, or again if it seems to be more of an emotional issue If it's more of an emotional issue, it may be helpful to use an approach such as hypnotherapy or psychotherapy to help you to work out the reasons for the emotional triggers and to release them somehow

If it's more of a physiological craving it may be more helpful to take a body oriented approach such as using amino acids or using an instrument such as this, which is an electrical stimulator used to stimulate points on this ear This approach is called auricular therapy, and it's done by – it's frequently done by acupuncturists where they stimulate points on the ear that relate specifically to tobacco craving and different addiction points The benefit to using the stimulus, an instrument like this is that this something that you can actually learn to use on yourself, and it's something that you can do at home, at work, anywhere you go and stimulate your own nicotine craving points on your ear So those are some of the things you can try to stop using tobacco
